AGV control

Automatic factories are increasingly often making use of Automatic Guided Vehicles (AGVs) to transport large and heavy objects between different manufacturing cells and stockroom locations. AGVs are also used to forward the products to truck and railcar loading places and consequently operate both indoors and outdoors.

With an identification system from Scirocco, it is possible to at all times have full control of the position of the AGV, even in distant places. A reader at the AGV and tags along the passage route will make the AGV continuously updated on its position.

In other cases, it may be more appropriate to mount the tag on the AGV and place the readers along the passage route. Since readers work excellent even if placed in close vicinity to one another, since they are very compact and easy to mount even where space is scarce, and furthermore since their cost is comparably low, the project budget can usually carry as many readers as is optimum for the application.
