All type of vehicles need to be identified, from normal cars to buses. In particular, fast moving vehicles create a specific demand to be identified at high speed. In a combined employee- and long-term parking area, the airport makes best possible use of available land, and can use its shuttle buses also for employee transportation.
With a Scirocco tag inside the vehicle’s windscreen, and each entry and exit lane equipped with a barrier and a reader, including taxi lanes, the problem is solved. For taxis, for example, each tag represents a specific vehicle and recipient of the airport charges. Each vehicle is allowed to stay for a certain time, and if exceeded, the operator will be charged for the extra time. Congestion is minimised and unauthorized taxis are blocked from picking up passengers.
